Italian-Inspired, Levantine-Crafted: The Story of Fetta D’Oro
Fetta D’Oro is TAIBA’s love letter to Italian deli — luncheon and mortadella, crafted under Levantine standards, served on tables from the Mediterranean to the Gulf. Here is the story behind the name.
Why “Fetta D’Oro”?
“Fetta D’Oro” — Italian for “golden slice” — was chosen for a reason. The Italian deli tradition has always emphasized two things: the quality of the meat, and the patience of the curing. Fetta D’Oro takes both to heart.
But it is not Italian. It is Levantine — produced in our facilities, under our halal protocols, for the tables that have always loved deli meats but could not always trust them.
What makes the line different
Italian-inspired flavor profile
Fetta D’Oro luncheon and mortadella are seasoned with Mediterranean herbs and traditional curing notes — a flavor profile familiar to anyone who has had Italian mortadella, but adapted for halal-compliant production.
Halal-compliant from start to finish
Italian-style does not mean Italian sourcing. Every Fetta D’Oro product is made from halal-sourced meat in our HACCP and ISO 22000 certified facilities. The supply chain is auditable; the slaughter is documented; the certification is independent.
Chilled, not canned
Unlike most TAIBA products, Fetta D’Oro is in our chilled-meats range. That means a tighter cold chain, a fresher product, and a sliceable texture closer to traditional deli. It also means less shelf-life — but a better experience.
Where it fits on the table
- Modern Levantine breakfast: sliced Fetta D’Oro mortadella with labneh, olives, and tomatoes.
- School lunchboxes: Fetta D’Oro luncheon in a flatbread roll with cheese.
- Apertivo platter: sliced thin alongside cheese, olives, and pickled vegetables.
- Pasta and salads: chopped into a Caesar or pasta salad for protein and bite.
Why we built it
Mortadella and Italian-style luncheon were always a gap in the halal market. Most halal-conscious customers either skipped these products or bought non-halal versions for the experience. Fetta D’Oro closes that gap.
It is what we love about TAIBA’s portfolio — eight brands, each crafted for a specific table. Fetta D’Oro is the table where Italian craft meets Levantine principle.
